Cookie Policy

Last updated: 10 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Party at the Block (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It supplements our Privacy Policy and tells you what cookies are set, why we use them, how long they last, and how you can control them.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads or visits — for example, that you’re logged in, or your preferred display settings. “Similar technologies” include things like local storage and session storage, which work in similar ways.

Our approach

We try to keep cookie usage to a minimum. We do not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or cross-site profiling. We do not run analytics scripts on this site. The only cookies we set ourselves are technical cookies needed to operate the site, and they are only set in specific situations described below.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary (technical)

These cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be turned off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling in a form.

  • wordpress_logged_in_* — Set by WordPress when you log into the admin area. Confirms you are authenticated. Lifetime: session, or up to 14 days if “Remember Me” is selected. Only relevant to administrators of this site, not to public visitors.
  • wordpress_sec_* — Set alongside the login cookie over HTTPS to protect against tampering. Same lifetime as the login cookie. Administrators only.
  • wp-settings-{user_id} and wp-settings-time-{user_id} — Persist UI preferences for logged-in WordPress users (e.g., admin screen layout). Lifetime: 1 year. Administrators only.
  • PHPSESSID (if applicable) — Standard PHP session cookie, used briefly during page rendering by some plugins. Lifetime: session.

Functional

We do not currently set any optional functional cookies. If we add features that depend on them in the future (for example, remembering a venue filter selection), we will update this policy first.

Analytics

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics service on this site.

Advertising

We do not run advertising on this site and we do not set any advertising or retargeting cookies.

Third-party cookies from embedded content

Pages on our site may include embedded content from other services — for example, video players, maps, or social-media posts from venues we feature. When that embedded content loads, the third party may set its own cookies and collect data about your interaction with that content. We do not control these cookies. Examples of services whose content might appear on our pages and the cookies they typically set:

  • YouTube / Vimeo — Video playback, view counting, preferences. Set by the video provider when an embedded player loads.
  • Instagram / Facebook / X (Twitter) — Embedded social-media posts may set session and tracking cookies governed by those platforms.
  • Google Maps — Map tile delivery and usage measurement.

To learn what cookies these third parties set and how they use them, see their own privacy and cookie policies. If you do not want third-party cookies from embedded content, you can disable third-party cookies in your browser settings (see “How to control cookies” below).

How to control cookies

You can control cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you:

  • See what cookies a site has set and delete them individually or as a group.
  • Block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or block cookies from specific sites.
  • Open a private/incognito window, where most browsers discard cookies when the window is closed.

Vendor-specific instructions for the most common browsers are available at:

Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break the WordPress login flow if you administer this site. Blocking third-party cookies will generally not break our site for public visitors, but it may stop embedded videos or social posts from loading or behaving normally.

Do Not Track

We honor Do Not Track signals where applicable. Because we do not perform tracking or run analytics on this site, there is no separate behavior to disable when DNT is enabled.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new functionality that requires additional cookies. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top.
